We're returning to Face to Face Meetings! 

We cannot wait to see everyone in Antwerp, Belgium!  The 2022 Q3 Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13 thru Friday, September 16, due to the Mid-Autumn Festival preceding our event.  

The meeting registration is set up on our new Meetings and Events Portal.  We’re employing this tool to help bridge the networking gap between physical and virtual registrants, broaden our sponsorship benefits, and host our events in a custom branded environment.

When registering for the meeting, please provide your full name, and use your company email address for your tools account.  After registering for the conference, please take a minute to create a simple profile by populating your city, country, company name, job title, and gender pronouns, and upload a photo (if you wish).

Meeting Hotel:

**It is vital for members to book their rooms at the hotel that the Forum has contracted with, failure to do so puts the Forum in financial jeopardy.**

Based on availability, the discounted group rate is offered a few days prior (September 8th) and post (September 21st) of the scheduled room block. If you plan to stay late or arrive early, please note that the reservation system may not allow you to book online. Please go ahead and make your reservation for the dates that you find available and then email us at help@broadband-forum.org and we will request a reservation update on your behalf.

Broadband Forum Discounted Room Rates:

On the nights of September 11, 16 thru 18, 2022:

    • 159 EUR Single (+2.97 EUR City Tax)
    • 179 EUR Double (+5.94 EUR City Tax)
    • 229 EUR Triple (+8.91 EUR City Tax)

On the nights of September 12 thru 15, 2022:

    • 179 EUR Single (+2.97 EUR City Tax)
    • 199 EUR Double (+5.94 EUR City Tax)
    • 249 EUR Triple (+8.91 EUR City Tax)

This room rate includes sales tax, breakfast and in-room internet access.  However the city tax is not include (current rate: 2.97 EUR per person, per night). 

Hotel Reservation Policies: 

Individuals are responsible for all sleeping room charges and reservations must be guaranteed by individual’s credit card at the time of booking.  

    • Reservations cancelled 24 hours prior to arrival will receive a full refund of their deposit.
    • Any reservation cancelled less than 24 hours prior to arrival or no shows will forfeit one night’s room and tax revenue.
    • Check-In Time: 15:00 | Check-Out Time: 12:00

Taxi transport in Antwerp:

The Antwerp taxis can transport up to four passengers while taxi buses can transport seven to eight passengers for the same price. The official taxis, with a permit from the City of Antwerp, all have an illuminated taxi sign on the roof and a red plate on the front of the car. You pay a uniform tariff, which is controlled by the city. The tariff is always shown on the taximeter in the car. When you arrive at your destination the taximeter will automatically print out a ticket with the taxi company’s name and phone number as well as the phone number of the local police, for any questions or complaints you may have.

The basic fee is €2.95, the kilometer price is €1.80 - €2.10. For standing and waiting time, €35.00 is charged per hour.

As announced during the 2022 Q2 Closing Plenary the meeting registration fee structure has changed. We now have an Early Bird Registration and Normal Registration periods. Once the Early Bird Deadline has pass the meeting registration fee will increase by 50%. A virtual meeting, option is available but not advised.

OnSite Meeting Fee:

The meeting fee includes lunch and are for all attendees including those staying in the hotel.

  • Early Bird Fees (for those who register before 17:00 on Monday, August 8th)
    • $500 USD Full Week - For Principal/Associate Members, Observers or Potential Member Guests, full week attendance.
    • $310 USD Single Day - For Principal/Associate Members, Observers or Potential Member Guests, single day attendance.

  • All Principal, Regional Operator, and Associate Members are welcome to contribute and attend the virtual meeting. 
  • Broadband Forum Observers are welcome to attend all sessions. 
  • Auditing Members are welcome to attend the general sessions (e.g. Plenaries, Keynote, BoF, Social, etc.)

Visa Information:

Visas cannot be obtained at the border or airport. The average time to obtain a Visa is four (4) weeks, however this will vary depending on location. Please be aware that each country has different requirements as to how to apply for a visa. Please check with your local consulate to get the most accurate information about obtaining a visa for your specific country of residence.

Please check-in at the Broadband Forum registration desk in the hotel to receive meeting materials, including information about Work Area meeting room location, meals and breaks, a printed copy of the agenda, and your name badge. The registration desk also serves as a meeting "lost and found" center, and is where Broadband Forum staff may be found for questions and additional information.

How to Participate via Zoom

  1. Register for the meeting, the link is above (Please note that you'll need to Login or Signup to view/access the meeting registration link.)
  2. Download/setup Zoom on your preferred device or update your Zoom software to the latest version and keep it current as new versions are released.
    1. Please do Test Zoom (using this open meeting, login is required)
  3. To join the Broadband Forum Slack Workspace for real time informal chat and individual voice/video call between participants please email a request to help@broadband-forum.org. (This is NOT a mandatory tool it's optional as we understand some companies are not able to access it.)
  4. How to find session information: The detailed agenda provides the most information per session and per Work Area.  Once it's populated the permissions will change so that everyone has access.
  5. Please review how to participate in the meeting and practice good meeting etiquette
  6. Register for the sessions you are interested in ahead of time (or create a free Zoom account) to make joining the sessions quicker/easier. Please DO NOT link your Zoom account to another service, such as Facebook or Google, if you choose to create an account.

NOTE: You do not need to register for each meeting session ahead of time. All Zoom links will allow you to join right away; some may ask you to enter your name and email address first. This is just an option to enter your information ahead of time, making things more efficient. All links will still work to join at the meeting time, even if you haven’t register ahead of time.
