Omdia’s Fiber Development Index tracks and benchmarks the fiber development across 88 countries. Unlike other fiber benchmarks that largely track coverage or household penetration, as fiber investment is vital to the quality delivery of all data services, Omdia’s benchmark takes into account a much wider set of metrics including fiber household coverage, household penetration, business penetration, mobile cell site fiber penetration, backbone investment, average download and upload speeds, jitter, and latency. Over the last year, the importance of reliable broadband was laid bare. During a period of unprecedented reliance of so many on dependable broadband access, the contribution of Broadband Forum members towards improving the technological ecosystem cannot be understated.

We commissioned an industry wide Connected Home survey with Omdia surveying service providers around the world and created our first virtual demo that spanned Cloud CO, OB-BAA, USP, and Closed-Loop Automation.
