titleScheduled Maintenance for Confluence System Upgrade

The BBF Confluence Wiki will be unavailable for several hours this evening for an upgrade to version 6 of Confluence. This is scheduled for 7pm - 9pm EST today Friday  

This versions version paves the way for the Collaborative editing and other new features that will be enabled shortly.

At the same time will be conducting some minor changes elsewhere that will require both JIRA and Bitbucket to be briefly unavailable.

The BBF Wiki is a dynamic, interactive tool that helps members share ideas, accelerate the work and collaborate globally on new projects.

  • It allows users to create and share information in a way that was not previously possible. It contains host of new functionality to help you develop your work. There are links to the contribution site throughout and we have also set up the same distribution groups here that are on ARO, so you should feel right at home. All of the members'-only pages previously housed on the public site are now located here on the wiki
  • We are just at the beginning (although 300+ members signed up in the last 3 months!) so expect things to adapt and move as we figure out the best way to work (with your help)

Finding your way around the wiki: (1) powerful search, (2) left hand navigation, (3) complete listing and preview of of all pages

Coming this month
  • We added a tooltips feature. Simply highlight text in the editing select the link icon on the edit toolbar and select tooltips.
  • We will continue to add new software and develop best practices. In particular, we areupgrading to Confluence version 6 featuring a new collaborative editor (see the release notes) allowing multiple concurrent editing of a page)
  • With the launch of public BBF web site, a series of new pages have been added to the wiki: the Policies and Procedures pages are all now located on the wiki. Previously these were located on the members area of the BBF public site, the Liaison Officers page and the BBF quarterly newsletters have also been moved to the wiki
  • Login is available to all members. to sign up a colleague forward this sign-up link using your email address.

New to the wiki? We held three town hall meetings on using the wiki. These were recorded and can be viewed. from the Wiki Training Space
