bbf2016.1047 - SG15 to BBF - Will be reviewed in join session, but feeling is that it is just an FYI. No action needed from FTTdp.

bbf2016.1046 - Documents from ITU-T -  More FYI and notification of taking into account our feedback. No action needed from FTTdp.

bbf2016.974 - Incoming Liaison from ETSI ATTM TM6 - Question on the maximum latency allowed when forwarding message. Appears to be an implementation question rather than something that needs to be specified. We are aware of the necessity to send the message as quickly as possible, but we would not specify a particular value as it would be left up to implementer. Will discuss during joint session on Tuesday 4pm with PhyTX.

bbf2016.978 - Response from IETF on YANG model work - Acknowledging the fact we are referencing their work and collaborating with them. Highlighting work ongoing on QoS YANG model which is currently a personal draft that may become a working group draft. FYI and no response required from FTTdp.

bbf2016.975 -   Valid range for specific objects - Actual number of bits per symbol. Highlighting that there was a mistake in their previous documentation. Joey Boyd to confirm if this change has been actioned or not. No response required.

AP - Joey Boyd confirmed that this change has been actions. No further action required.

bbf2016.574 - Old liaison that was held open to await papers on the IL-338.  Text changes have been made.

AP - Christopher Croot to create text to send latest version of VDSL YANG model highlighting that we have changed the text in accordance with their comment.

No contributions at this meeting. Marcin Drzymala has suggested that he has an intention to provide contributions.

It was also mentioned that there was a possibility of  holding an interim meeting to tackle the SB comment resolution for TR-301i2 and this could be held in Ipswich at BT some time mid to late Jan 2017.

The opening session was concluded.

  • There is an associated list of open issues. Two new issues came from discussion:
    • Implementation of when and must constraints in XML on the line should be validated.
    • How does the model attach to PTM or ATM through fastdsl or other interfaces.
  • Accepted as a baseline model for bonding, to be further improved and should eventually be incorporated in WT-355. The model will go into Bitbucket, issues are to go into JIRA by November 18.

  • Section 7, 8, agreed.
  • Section 9 not agreed, not backward compatible. Instead write in the description that all profiles must be configured, add description to direct or indirect attachment. (e.g., they are mandatory).
  • Section 10. Need to move xtse into line-spectrum-profile. Agreed to deprecate xdsl-transmission-system-enabling and add a new xtse into line-spectrum-profile. Explain reason for deprecation in description. Also deprecate useless xtse in spectrum.
  • Section 11, agreed, do not make mandatory.
  • Section 12, not agreed.
  • Section 13, agreed. Will deprecate part of the grouping.

CONTRIB-20064, Proposal to update WT-374

Marcos Martinez presented the contribution which introduces new parameters into the model.

Proposal to adopt the proposed software for inclusion in the WT-374 model. There are about 10 parameters that are currently missing which will be provided for an interim conference call.

That should then mean the document could go to SB out of the conference call.

Document was approved for inclusion.

  • Line 434 in bbf-vdsl-impulse-noise-protection-delay-profile-body.yang, agreed to deprecate upstream mdosplit and explain in the description that upstream + downstream = 100% so that's why upstream was deprecated.

  • Line 476 in bbf-vdsl-impulse-noise-protection-delay-profile-body.yang, agreed to deprecate upstream and fix description

  • Line 504 in bbf-vdsl-impulse-noise-protection-delay-profile-body.yang, agreed to deprecate upstream and fix description

  • Line 253 in bbf-vdsl-mode-specific-psd-profile-body.yang, not agreed, no change made to upstream_psd_mask_selection

    • Agreed to add text to OD-360 noting that backward compatibility is more important than changing style issues.
  • Line 152 in bbf-vdsl-noise-margin-profile-body.yang, agreed to expand the must statement for maximum-noise-margin by adding: or (max == "unbounded")

  • Line 370 in bbf-vdsl-pointers.yang, leaf line-config-vector, no change agreed

  • Line 380 in bbf-vdsl-pointers.yang, threshold-template, agreed to add to description field: "If no template is configured, then TCA reporting is disabled."

  • Line 103 in bbf-vdsl-virtual-noise-profile-body.yang, grouping vn-descriptor, agreed to make max-elements be 16 for upstream and 32 for downstream

  • Line 167 in bbf-vdsl-virtual-noise-profile-body.yang, virtual-noise-profile (downstream), agreed to add a must statement so that there cannot be a single element

  • Line 219 in bbf-vdsl-virtual-noise-profile-body.yang, virtual-noise-profile (upstream), agreed to add a must statement so that there cannot be a single element

  • Line 270 in bbf-vdsl-xtu-band-status-body.yang, upbo-electrical-length-pbn, agreed to add to description "For ADSL systems, a single parameter is defined for band = 0, as a single band is usable."

  • Line 302 in bbf-vdsl-xtu-line-status-body.yang, profile, agreed to remove config false; (other spurious config false; occurrences should also be searched and destroyed)

  • Line 420 in bbf-vdsl-xtu-line-status-body.yang, attndr-actual-method, agreed to change valid range to 0..2

There were some additional rows in the contribution that were inadvertently copied, were redundant, and not addressed.

It was agreed to create a WT-355 Corrigendum 2, post it on Bitbucket, and proceed to a rapid straw ballot

2017.485.01 - Awareness of new FTU Management Counter

  • Notes that a new counter is being defined by the ITU for G.fast: All Normal Operation Interval (NOI) Error Free Throughput (ANDEFTR). This is likely to be consented by the ITU in June, there is no action by the BBF at this time but we should be ready for it.
