Introduction

Open Broadband Subscriber Session Steering (OB-STEER) aims at creating a reference implementation for key elements of the Subscriber Session Steering architecture as currently worked out in WT/TR-474 project within the Broadband Forum. Examples of key elements / components, include, but are not limited to: upsf-net-conn-manager, upsf-sess-ctx-manager, upsf-server, and the upsf-sgrp-manager. The reference implementations are constructed in python, with a focus on rapid prototyping instead of system performance, intending to enable testing of proposed changes and updates to the Broadband Forum subscriber session steering specifications. Additionally, vendor implementations may be able to demonstrate interoperability with this common reference implementation, as commercial products are developed.
